RoadPro 300W 12V Heater – Unboxing, Instalation and review

If your intending to use this to heat your car up fast I wouldn’t purchase this item. If you were to use this heater in a bus or a tractor cab then this heater would be good for a hand/body warmer, the heater does produce a fair amount of heat the only problem is that it doesn’t have a lot of air flow so there’s not a whole lot of potential to spread the heat out over a wide area. So far I’ve used it mainly as an upper body warmer in my car on the short 8 minute drives to school when the heater core in my car hasn’t warmed up yet but if I have to leave my car outside of a shop for 10-15 minutes on the colder 45 degree days I’ve found that it keeps my cab at a decent temp, I wouldn’t let it run for more than 60 minutes on a standard car battery though with the vehicle turned off as it does draw 300 watts.

As for the structural design of the heater it is very sturdy, I think that it could take a good hit from a hammer and still be ok. It is of ceramic composition so the housing is cool to the touch even after its been running for several minutes. I personally have not used the mounting option due to the fact that I want to be able to use it in several places in my car weather it be defrosting a window or if one of my friends in the back seat wants to set it on their lap and use it as a body warmer.

Again this product is of equal quality in comparison to the price I paid. However if you are looking for the same quality from this product as a 1500 watt bathroom space heater you wont even come close to the same results; However if you are looking for those results you would be much better off buying a 2000 watt DC to AC inverter and then buying a bathroom space heater.
