Most cordless phones use one of the following frequencies: 900MHz, 2.4GHz, or 5.8 GHz. The frequency that the cordless phone operates on plays an important role in your selection. Cordless phones that operate using 900mhz have been around the longest and suffer from the most interference and static (from baby monitors and microwave ovens). 2.4GHz phones were suppose to offer better reception than the 900MHz phones by operating on a frequency with less interference.
